Foreman Rigger

Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To enable maintenance by moving and lifting heavy loads through safe Rigging practices conforming to standards. This role manages all lifting of heavy loads and supervises contractors performing heavy lifting and ensures regular Rigging inspections and studies are conducted.

You will have the following:

• Qualified Rigger artisan
• Valid trade specific qualification (either an INPP specific to the trade or a valid international accredited trade qualification
• 8 years of post-qualification experience as a Rigger, including 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.

Technical Skills should include:

• Computer literacy – MS Office
• Isometrics
• JDE and STG

   Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:

• Manage project build to commissioning and Plan work
• Plan work with contractors to ensure timeous delivery
• Supervise contractors and Kamoa teams, enabling, coaching and supporting them
• Inspect and report on progress made
• Maintain Rigging workshop stock of spares and tools
• Finance and reporting- Cost efficiencies and On-time reporting
• People- Progress against development plans and performance plans and feedback
• Skills Transfer and Transformation- Support the organisational Skills Transfer agenda
• HSEQ Implement the HSEQ plan for the Business area-Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
• Manage Reporting- Adhere to and improve reporting processes for the area of responsibility
