Exciting opportunity available for a resilient, suitably qualified and experienced candidates in the Mining industry with proven Winder experience.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Specialized Winder Fitters, Electricians, or Rigger manage the ultimate lifeline of a mine: the winder system. The winder (or mine hoist) is the massive mechanical and electrical drum system used to transport personnel, heavy machinery, rock, and explosives between the surface and deep underground shafts.

Shaft artisan is a highly skilled, trade-certified professional (holding a Red Seal qualification or equivalent) who is explicitly responsible for the mechanical, structural, and electrical maintenance of a mine's underground shaft system

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • No Criminal Record
  • Grade 12
  • Red Seal Trade Certificate
  • Often requires a minimum of 5 years as an artisan, with at least 3 years directly specialized in winding systems
  • Shaft and undergound experience.
  • Valid drivers Lisence
  • A valid Dover B Symbol (cognitive and psychomotor assessment required for safety-critical mining roles).
  • Winder Specialization: At least 2 to 5 years of focused experience maintaining, repairing, and testing mine winder hoists and winding plant equipment
