1. Rigging Support
- Assist in the preparation and execution of lifting activities
- Help attach and secure loads using slings, shackles, chains, and other lifting gear
- Fasten bolts to the structures.
- Follow instructions from the Rigger or Supervisor at all times
2. Equipment Handling
- Inspect basic rigging equipment before use (slings, hooks, chains)
- Assist with cleaning, storing, and maintaining lifting gear
- Identify and report damaged or defective equipment
3. Load Handling
- Guide loads during lifting operations (tagline handling)
- Ensure loads are stable and balanced before lifting
- Assist with positioning and placement of loads
4. Safety Compliance
- Adhere to lifting plans and safety procedures
- Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
- Maintain safe working distances and clear communication during lifts
5. Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Assist in clearing work areas before and after lifting activities
- Grade 12/ Matric
- Previous experience in a construction, mining, or SMPP environment (preferred)
- Proven work experience working as a Rigger Assistant / S/S Rigger
- Basic knowledge of lifting and rigging practices
- Medically fit to work (valid Certificate of Fitness)
- Must reside in rustenburg
