Duties & Responsibilities
Load Assessment: Determine load weights, balance points, and the safest rigging method (e.g., rope, wire rope, synthetic, or chain rigging).
Equipment Setup: Select, attach, and secure gear like slings, shackles, hoists, and cranes to lift or move materials.
Guiding Operations: Communicate clearly with crane operators and lift supervisors using standard hand signals or radios.
Equipment Maintenance: Inspect lifting equipment before use, perform maintenance, and ensure all gear is properly cleaned and stored.
Site Preparation: Assemble and dismantle temporary structures like scaffolding, align and anchor heavy machinery, and clear work areas.
Safety Compliance: Follow strict health and safety protocols to protect workers and the surrounding environment
Desired Experience & Qualification
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of load dynamics, crane capacities, and reading detailed lifting plans.
Communication: Strong verbal and non-verbal skills to direct heavy machinery safely.
Physical Fitness: Capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in challenging outdoor/industrial environments.
Requirements: High school diploma, specialized rigger certification (e.g., NRC Level 2, NVQ, or local equivalent), and specialized safety training (e.g., working at heights).
