Overhead Crane Operator - ST

POSITION PURPOSE This position is required to operate the overhead crane in a safe and efficient manner moving materials to the precast beds as required.   RESPONSIBILITIES Operate traveling overhead crane to lift, move, and position loads of material using a hook hoisting attachment. Strip products from the forms. Know and understand the rigging angles, chain capacity, and hooks that are necessary to perform the picks. Facilitate the bed needs with torches for cutting the cables loose, unloading steel from trailers, and installing form work on the beds. Perform weekly check to determine if the form oil barrels need to be replaced. Always ensure safe and proper operation of the crane. Obtain forklift certification to facilitate spools of cable, form oil, torches, and any other needs to the beds. Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
