Overhead Crane Operator

This role is responsible for safely operating an overhead crane and hoist to support the manufacturing process in different production lines. Responsible for ensuring equipment is set for production line in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

• Follows Safety Guidelines and procedures set for this role.
• Always wears the assigned PPE and follows the PPE guidelines set by the business.
• Does not operate any equipment, machinery, or tool if he/she has not been trained to operate.
• Follows the production/batch plan according to the daily plan.
• Communicates and escalates equipment failure or malfunction to the immediate supervisor or the maintenance team immediately.
• Performs pre-operation inspections on assigned crane to ensure it is in safe operating condition and immediately escalates safety concerns.
• Operates the crane control to regulate speed and direction according to the manufacturing settings.
• Performs daily minor maintenance and housekeeping duties to ensure safe functionality of the equipment.
• Regularly inspects the crane to identify defective parts, escalates the issues and prepares the necessary documentation.
• Transfer materials and loads utilizing the crane to reach the daily production plan.
• Follows LOTO and OSHA requirements outlined by the EHS department and based on the Standard Operating Procedures for this equipment.
• Performs other duties assigned by the Department Lead, Supervisor, Manager, or a member of the Management Team.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE

At least 12 months operating a Crane, preferably an overhead crane.
