Grupo Simples Oil is currently seeking qualified OPITO Rigger Level 3 or API-certified professionals to strengthen its team for a major offshore crane operations and maintenance project in Angola.

Responsibilities:

Interpret and review lifting plans and risk assessments prior to operations, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and HSE standards.
- Select, inspect, and verify lifting equipment is certified, properly maintained, and fit for use.
- Conduct toolbox talks to ensure clear understanding of roles, hazards, and control measures.

Lead, plan, and execute rigging and lifting operations in accordance with approved lifting plans.
- Attach and detach loads using correct methods and certified lifting accessories.

Ensure safe movement, positioning, and stability of loads during lifting and transfer operations.
- Communicate effectively with crane operators and deck teams using standard signals and radios.
- Identify hazards in the lifting area and implement appropriate control measures.

Monitor environmental conditions (weather and sea state) that may affect lifting operations, particularly offshore FPSO operations.
- Ensure compliance with LOLER regulations, company HSE standards, PTW systems, and JSA procedures.
- Carry out pre-use and post-use inspections of lifting equipment and report defects or nonconformities promptly.
- Maintain lifting logs, inspection records, certification validity, and colour coding systems accurately.
- Support and guide less experienced riggers, promoting safe working practices and teamwork.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of rigging areas and work sites.
- Assist with helicopter operations, including helideck support, helicopter refuelling, emergency response activities, and mooring hose connection/disconnection during tanker offloading.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in rigging and lifting operations

Mandatory offshore FPSO experience
- OPITO Rigger Stage 3 or API (or equivalent) certification
- Valid BOSIET/FOET and HUET certifications
- Strong knowledge of SWL/WLL and rigging principles
- Proven ability to interpret and execute lifting plans and risk assessments
- Good understanding of LOLER, PTW, and JSA systems
- Experience leading lifting teams and coordinating crane operations
- Strong HSE awareness and hazard identification skills

Helideck operations and emergency response experience is an advantage
