📍 Location: Seattle, WA
💵 Pay: $21.30 – $29.75 per hour
📅 Job Type: Full-Time

 

Most employees start between $21.30 and $25.00.  The higher end of the range, $29.75, is reserved for candidates with exceptional experience or qualifications.

 

Summary: Operates traveling or stationary overhead crane (ground controlled) to lift, move, and position steel loads within the production facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Observe load hookup and determine the safety of the load.

  • Manipulates or depresses crane control buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.

  • Uses hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires.

  • Cleans and maintains a crane and hoisting mechanism.

  • Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.

  • Assist with training newly hired Material Handler I

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates

  • Certified to Operator all equipment related to moving material within the warehouse.

Language Ability

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
