General Summary of the Position

Perform tasks involving physical labor in operating equipment, machinery and components used in the fabrication, assembly, and construction of skid mounted gas processing plants.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):

  • Operates crane equipment up to 50 tons.
  • Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the Field Superintendent or Field HSSE Coordinator.
    • Proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in fabrication, assembly, and construction of gas processing plants.
    • Relates to clients, vendors, and subcontractors in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints.
    • Other duties assigned to meet the needs of the business.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in construction.
  • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use crane properly and safely.
  • Must be able to read, understand and make lifts within the specified load chart limits for the crane being operated.
  • Knowledge of hand signals specified in ANSI B30.5.
  • Knowledge of safe rigging practices (i.e. use of softeners, spreader bars).
  • Ability to identify issues with crane and request preventive maintenance or parts as required.
  • Possesses a current NCCO certification for the size and type of crane being operated or could pass a test to attain certification.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Any combination of training and work experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.

Work Context:

  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
  • Must be able to work within confined space of crane, climb into and out of crane, see out of crane, and operate crane for long periods of time.
  • Requires good dexterity and coordination.
  • Noise level is generally loud.
  • Must be able to work in elevated areas.
