Job Summary:**
Operate various types of cranes to lift, move, and position materials and equipment on heavy civil construction sites in Shreveport, Louisiana, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
* Operate hydraulic, lattice boom, and other types of cranes, adhering to all safety regulations and operational procedures.
* Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on crane equipment, including inspecting cables, hooks, and slings.
* Interpret and understand load charts and lift plans to ensure safe and efficient material handling.
* Communicate effectively with ground crew, signal persons, and supervisors using hand signals, radios, and other communication methods.
* Maintain accurate daily logs of operations, maintenance, and safety inspections.
* Ensure the proper rigging and securing of loads before lifting and moving.
* Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
* Assist with other construction site duties as needed, including general labor tasks.
Job Qualifications:**
* NCCCO certification for relevant crane types (e.g., Lattice Boom, Telescopic Boom-Swing Cab, Telescopic Boom-Fixed Cab).
* Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience operating cranes in a heavy civil construction environment.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and load charts.
* Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and best practices related to crane operations.
* Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and spatial awareness.
* Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
