JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Crane Operator is responsible for operating the gantry cranes in a safe, efficient, and effective manner to load and unload cargo to and from the vessel. The Crane Operator is responsible for practicing safe work habits and for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements
1. Must possess good depth perception skills
2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
3. Must posses Gantry Crane certification from an accredited institute.
4. Must have 1 to 3 years of experience in operating a gantry crane
5. Employee must possess the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
6. Employee must be able to climb and work at high elevations near navigable waters
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position works in a port/terminal setting, with outdoor exposure during the workday. This position requires that the crane operator sit while operating heavy equipment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days and hours of work vary depending on the company’s needs.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Employee must be authorized to work in the United States, obtain a port ID, and TWIC license.
