Crane Operator
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our team. The Crane Operator is responsible for operating overhead, mobile, or industrial cranes to safely lift, move, position, and place materials, equipment, and products throughout the facility or job site. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
• Operate cranes to lift, move, load, unload, and position materials safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine equipment checks.
• Follow lift plans, load charts, and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with ground personnel using hand signals, radios, or other communication methods.
• Inspect loads to ensure proper rigging and secure lifting practices.
• Monitor crane performance and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Maintain accurate equipment and inspection records.
• Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies.
• Assist with material handling and general yard or warehouse duties as needed.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Requirements:
• Previous crane operating experience required.
• Valid crane certification preferred (NCCCO or equivalent, if applicable).
• Knowledge of load capacities, rigging, and lifting procedures.
• Ability to read and understand safety regulations and equipment manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, steel processing, recycling, or industrial environments.
• Forklift or heavy equipment operating experience.
• OSHA Safety Certification.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
