#jobalert | W2 CONTRACT | CRANE OPERATOR (LG 1750) | WIND ENERGY | Central Kansas
We're supporting a wind energy construction project in central Kansas requiring an experienced lattice boom crane operator for a night-shift contract running approximately two months. The machine on-site is a Liebherr LG 1750 — one of the most powerful lattice boom mobile cranes in the world — rigged with superlift, derrick, and tray, operating on straight boom (no luffer). Lifts include full drive trains, hub sets, and components up to 200,000 lbs. This is precision heavy-lift work on an active wind turbine construction site.
- Anticipated $50/hour, based on experience (rate may flex for the right operator)
- 7x 10/12s (70-84 hours per week), anticipate 2 months
- $125/day per diem, paid 7 days/week
- Mileage reimbursed at $0.725/mile in/out upon project completion
- Night shift schedule
What You'll Do:
- Operate the Liebherr LG 1750 lattice boom crane with superlift/derrick/tray configuration
- Execute precision lifts of wind turbine components — drive trains, hubs, and loads up to 200K lbs.
- Work night shifts as part of a wind turbine erection crew
- Coordinate with rigging crew during picks; maintain communication with signal persons and lift directors
- Follow site-specific lift plans and all NCCCO/OSHA safety requirements
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- NCCCO Lattice Boom Crawler or Mobile Crane certification (required)
- Documented hands-on experience on Liebherr LG 1750 or LR 1750 (strongly preferred)
- Wind turbine erection experience — drive trains, nacelles, hubs, tower sections
- Superlift/derrick/tray configuration experience
- Heavy lift experience — loads 100K lbs. and above
- Comfort with night shift operations on active construction sites
- OSHA 10 or 30 (preferred)
