Telco Technician/ Rigger - Auckland

Downer is looking for a skilled Telecommunications Technician / Rigger to join our Auckland team, working across live cellular networks that keep New Zealand connected.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll support the build, upgrade, maintenance and fault response of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G sites. You’ll take ownership of your sites, work safely at height, and deliver quality outcomes for major telecommunications customers. Travel and call‑out work will be required depending on project needs.

Ngā pūkenga matua | What We’re Looking For

You’re a practical, safety‑focused technician who takes pride in doing the job right. You’ll bring:

• Certificate in Rigging (Intermediate or Advanced preferred)
• Working at Heights certification
• NZ Certificate in Telecommunications (Level 3) or equivalent industry experience
• Experience working on cellular towers and radio equipment
• Confidence installing antennas, MHAs, combiners and completing sweep/PIM testing
• Full clean NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 2 an advantage)
• Willingness to be part of a call‑out roster and travel as required
