Engineering Trades Australia are currently recruiting experienced local trades for an upcoming CIL tank construction project near Ballarat, commencing ASAP (from 5 January).

This is a local DIDO role only — no FIFO, no accommodation, and no LAHA provided.

To meet fatigue management requirements, candidates must live within 45 minutes (up to a maximum of 1–1.5 hours) of site.

Only candidates based in Ballarat and surrounding towns, Bendigo region, Geelong region, or Melbourne (within travel radius) will be considered. Applicants outside this catchment area cannot be progressed.

Positions Available

• Boilermakers
• Special class welders
• Riggers (Intermediate or Advanced)
• Crane / Franna Operators
• Trades Assistants

Indicative Rates

• Boilermakers / Special Class Welders – $63 - $65/hr
• Crane / Franna Operators – $60/hr
• Riggers – $58/hr
• Trades Assistants – $50/hr

Final rates dependent on role, tickets, and experience. Boilermaker weld testing required

Project Details

• Location: Ballarat, VIC
• Start: ASAP / from 5 January
• Duration: 4–5 months with potential extension
• Roster: Local DIDO 3:1 (13th day off)

Requirements

• Relevant trade qualification
• Current HRWL
• Rigging/Dogging ticket (Intermediate or Advanced where applicable)
• White Card
• Working at Heights, Confined Space & EWP (within last 2 years)
• Strong construction project experience (mining experience preferred)
• Able to work in a small crew environment
• Able to pass pre-employment medical & D&A
• Full Australian working rights
