Job Purpose
The Rigger is responsible for safely carrying out rigging and lifting activities in mining operations, ensuring that all loads are prepared, lifted, moved, and positioned in accordance with approved lifting plans, safety standards, and site procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute rigging and lifting tasks strictly as per approved lifting plans and supervisor instructions
• Inspect rigging equipment prior to use, ensuring it is fit for purpose and within certification
• Select and use appropriate rigging gear including slings, shackles, hooks, spreader beams, and lifting accessories
• Sling, guide, and position loads safely during lifting and placement activities
• Maintain continuous communication with crane operators using approved hand signals or radio systems
• Ensure compliance with site HSE rules, lifting procedures, and permit-to-work requirements
• Participate in toolbox talks, pre-lift meetings, and safety briefings
  Identify unsafe acts or conditions and immediately stop work if lifting operations become unsafe
• Maintain good housekeeping in rigging and lifting areas
• Support maintenance, installation, dismantling, and relocation of heavy equipment within mining operations
• Assist supervisors in maintaining rigging gear logs and reporting damaged or defective equipment
• Work collaboratively with crane crews, supervisors, and safety teams to ensure smooth execution of lifting activities
