Crane Operator
We are looking for a Pendant Crane Operator to safely move steel sheets, plates, scrap bins, and other materials through the plant using a pendant crane. This role is ideal for someone experienced, safety-conscious, and reliable.

- Inspect crane daily and sign inspection sheet at the start of shift.
- Stay aware of surroundings and prioritize pedestrian safety.
- Follow supervisor’s instructions and interpret work orders accurately.
- Safely operate the crane, sheet-lifter, and cables.
- Supply shears with material and move finished products to staging areas.
- Load and unload trucks; handle transfer carts and conveyors.
- Maintain organized, efficient, and safe inventory.
- Monitor material quality, counts, and tagging; ensure compliance with work/sales orders.
- Support team for smooth operations, preventing delays and hazards.
- Report equipment issues immediately; ensure preventive maintenance is done.
- Keep work area clean and safe.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Reliable, regular attendance.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to use and read measuring tools: tape, micrometer, Rockwell tester.
- Basic Excel skills for data entry and searching information.
- Ability to calculate steel weights.
- Knowledge of steel types, sizes, thickness, and defects.
- Understand quality control: tolerances, surface defects, burrs, camber, and shape.
