Crane Operator - HSL, Local 1

Irving Shipbuilding is recruiting for Crane Operators - HSL, Local 1 in Halifax, NS. 
 

• Assist certified crane operators with day-to-day tasks on site
• Learn to safely operate mobile and tower cranes under direct supervision
• Participate in equipment inspections and routine maintenance
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and site regulations
• Attend in-house and external training sessions as required

• Valid 10t crane ticket preferred, prior experience with cranes
• Have an acceptable attendance record (absenteeism rate must be at or below 5.00% for the 12 months prior to Competition Open Date)
• Clean disciplinary record (no active discipline on file)
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the role
• Ability to perform shift work in accordance with the Collective Agreement
• Excellent work ethic
• Ability to work independently to complete tasks effectively and efficiently 
   

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
