Job Description

We are currently seeking a Crane Operator to join our Baie-Comeau team.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating the crane and will play a key role in material handling and yard operations at our recycling site. You will contribute to the smooth running of operations by safely moving, loading, and organizing metals within the yard.

This position is primarily focused on crane operation in a dynamic industrial environment. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is safety-conscious and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

What you will be responsible for :

  • Operate the crane safely and efficiently to support site operations;
  • Receive, load, unload, move, and transport metals to appropriate areas;
  • Sort, identify, and handle different types of metals;
  • Inspect and verify the quality of received and processed materials;
  • Transport and organize materials within designated yard areas;
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues or anomalies;
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in accordance with health and safety standards;
  • Perform any other related tasks associated with site operations.

Qualifications

To join our team :

  • Experience operating heavy equipment (crane, loader, or equivalent);
  • Comfortable working in a physical, outdoor environment;
  • Strong ability to work in a team and adapt to changing priorities;
  • Strong health and safety awareness;
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (strong asset);
  • Experience in a scrapyard or recycling environment (strong asset).
