Crane Operator

Purpose –

Pace Contracting is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Crane Operator to support construction projects throughout our operating region. This position plays a critical role in the safe and efficient execution of heavy lifting operations on active job sites. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to travel to project locations as needed. This role requires a strong understanding of crane operations, jobsite safety, communication, and teamwork in fast-paced construction environments. Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Operate cranes and lifting equipment safely and efficiently on construction projects.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and ensure cranes are maintained in proper working conditions.
  • Interpret lift plans, load charts, and jobsite conditions to safely execute lifting operations.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, riggers, and field personnel to complete lifts safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific requirements.
  • Assist with setup, teardown, and mobilization of crane equipment as required.
  • Identify and communicate potential safety hazards or operational concerns.
  • Support project teams in maintaining schedule and production goals.
  • Travel to project sites as required to support company operations.

Qualifications –

  • Current NCCCO (CCO) Certification required.
  • Previous crane operating experience in construction or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand load charts, lift plans, and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Strong commitment to safety, communication, and teamwork.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for project assignments.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and active construction sites.
