Crane Operator

Overhead Bridge Crane Operator

Responsible for operating an overhead bridge crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and monitors overall functions of the overhead crane.  Assist operations by positioning the crane for bucket swaps, cable changes and general maintenance.  Move wet product to allow for drying, move dry product into a crusher. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate crane under general supervision.

Manipulate or depress cane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.

Assist with repairs/report repairs as needed.

Inspect crane for safety issues daily and determine if any parts are malfunctioning.

Cleans and maintains the cab of the crane.

Complete job safety analysis, and all other necessary paperwork.

Load and unload wet and dry products inside of a containment pit.

Move levers and pedals to travel on a rail system, raise and lower crane cable and bucket, open bucket to release material.

Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.

Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.

Operate crane according to signals from rigger when changing out cables, bucket, etc.

Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.

Other duties as assigned.
