Cab Crane Operator (Overhead Crane) Night Shift (6 PM – 6 AM)   Position Summary   As a Cab Crane Operator, you will operate an overhead crane from an elevated cab to move steel plates, pipe, and structural materials throughout the facility.   This role requires strong hand-eye coordination, situational awareness, and a commitment to safety. You will work closely with production, welding, and yard teams to ensure materials are moved efficiently without compromising safety or product quality.   This is a night shift role (6 PM – 6 AM) requiring focus, discipline, and consistent execution.   What You’ll Be Responsible For Operate cab-controlled overhead cranes to move steel materials safely and efficiently Lift, position, and transport loads including plate, pipe, and structural steel Follow all rigging signals and communication protocols with ground personnel Inspect crane equipment and rigging before use to ensure safe operation Maintain precise control to prevent load swing, damage, or safety hazards Support production flow by staging materials for welding, fitting, and processing Identify and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions immediately Maintain clean and organized work areas Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times   What It Takes to Be Successful Proven experience operating cab-controlled overhead cranes in an industrial environment Strong understanding of load control, balance, and safe lifting practices Ability to read and respond to hand signals and radio communication High level of situational awareness and attention to detail Ability to operate smoothly and consistently in a fast-paced production environment Strong commitment to safety and following procedures Dependable and able to maintain focus during 12-hour night shifts   Preferred Experience (Strongly Valued) Experience handling steel plate, pipe, or large structural materials Familiarity with rigging equipment (slings, chains, hooks, etc.) Prior experience in manufacturing or steel service center environments
